Alpine kilns are constructed of heavy-duty, industrial steel frames. Each one is lined with 2800ºF insulating firebrick, bonded with a high-temperature mortar, and backed by a heat-resistant, insulating material for maximum firing efficiency. The typical finished wall thickness of an Alpine™ kiln is 7.5 to 8 inches. Doors are recessed and tightly sealed, with heavy-duty hinges and two peepholes for easy access viewing.
ELECTRONIC CONTROL
Alpine’s Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) features a touch screen with a constant overview of the firing process, permitting operation of the kiln in either a high limit or ramp mode. The control package includes: PLC, Fireye monitors, automatic spark ignition, 90-second blower purge cycle, high/low pressure switches, pilot and main regulators and solenoids, alarm bell, key switch, multiple indicating lights, and stand-mounted control panel.
